The event brought families, school leaders and district staff together for outdoor activities including a nature hike, field-day games, playground time and fishing. Attendees shared a midday meal and some participants danced after lunch.
Superintendent Dr. Marvin Connolly Jr. delivered remarks thanking family ambassadors for supporting students and strengthening family–school partnerships. Each family ambassador received a certificate of recognition and a small token of appreciation.
Launched in 2022, the Family Ambassadors Initiative supports districtwide family engagement, helps lead specific outreach efforts and aims to connect families with school resources. District materials described the program as a central part of the district’s family-engagement work.
The celebration concluded with district staff recognizing the ambassadors’ ongoing contributions to Cumberland County Schools and the local school community.
