The West Allis‑West Milwaukee School Board approved routine consent items and authorized an extended‑travel, student exchange trip to France at its April 28 meeting.
Consent agenda: The board voted to approve minutes of the April 14 regular meeting, the employment summary, supplementary contracts and the district financial summary. The motion was moved and seconded; members voted "Aye" and the chair declared the motion passed.
Extended travel: The board approved a proposed student exchange trip to France that staff described as a 10‑day, culturally and linguistically immersive program scheduled for spring break next year. The superintendent introduced the proposal and French teacher Miss Engo Kumeier described plans for home stays, school visits and cultural sites including Mont Saint‑Michel and Paris (Louvre, Sacré‑Cœur). Presenters said the trip operator is the same company the district used for a prior Senegal trip and that students will both host visiting French students here and travel to France as part of the exchange. The board moved, seconded and approved the request by voice vote.
The meeting record does not show roll‑call tallies with member names for either the consent agenda or the extended travel vote; the clerk recorded the motions as "Aye" with no opposition reported on the voice votes.
