The Hamblen County Commission on April 24 approved the reappointment of David Beckner of Morristown to the county Civil Service Board. Beckner, a retired captain of the Morristown Police Department with 38 years of sworn service and a four-year U.S. Marine Corps veteran, agreed to continue serving if reappointed.
Commissioner Thomas Doty moved to approve the reappointment; Commissioner Tim Horner seconded. The chair called the vote and the motion passed unanimously among voting members present.
Beckner—s term will expire Aug. 31, 2028. The Civil Service Board handles personnel appeals and other matters under county civil-service rules.
