Renton council adopts fee schedule, OKs grants and contracts and advances budget ordinance to second reading

In finance actions, the council concurred with committee recommendations to approve accounts payable vouchers totaling $8,654,365.65; payroll totaling $2,057,196.83 for the March pay period (683 direct deposits and six checks); and municipal court vouchers totaling $18,330.13. The council also concurred in the acceptance of $15,000 in grant funds from the Administrative Office of the Courts to support the Renton municipal court’s community court retreat and authorized the mayor and city clerk to execute an amendment to contract 24259 to accept those funds.
The council agreed to a staff-recommended amendment to a professional services contract for Legacy Square design services with Mithun Incorporated; the contract identifier was not specified in the meeting transcript. The finance committee report and the related concurrence motion passed without recorded opposition.
Finally, the council concurred with a finance committee recommendation to adopt a 2025 carry-forward and first-quarter budget amendment that would increase the biennial revenues by $56,072,799 (to $701,143,703) and increase biennial expenditures by $167,033,277 (to $815,422,398). Council members moved to place the ordinance on second and final reading at the next council meeting; that procedural motion passed unanimously.
Several procedural committee reports were also approved by voice vote: the Planning and Development Committee’s recommendation on the 2024 Title 4 docket (Group B items) was concurred with and ordinances will be prepared for first reading when complete.
