Ordinance 328‑2025 authorizes the director of capital projects to issue a permit to the Cleveland Public Library to install and maintain an Ohio historical marker mounted on a 10‑foot‑tall octagon post with a foundation in the Superior Avenue right of way. A committee presenter said the marker relates to the main library, built in 1925, and that the library’s 100th anniversary celebration is scheduled for May 6; the presenter said the hope was to install the marker before that anniversary. Council members and staff expressed support for placing the marker.
Ordinance 329‑2025 authorizes the director of capital projects to issue an encroachment permit to Nautica Entertainment LLC for a permanent egress stairway and an entry canopy on Elm Street. Staff described two encroachments: a staircase that projects about 5 feet from the building, is about 12 feet long and leaves roughly 8 feet of sidewalk clearance for pedestrians; and a VIP canopy that projects about 7 feet and is roughly 4 feet wide. A committee member identified the site as being in Ward 3 and committee members said they supported the request. The committee approved the ordinance.
Each ordinance was presented by department staff and approved by the committee; no roll‑call vote totals were recorded in the transcript and no motions with named movers or seconders were captured. The committee adjourned after the approvals.
