The Stonecrest City Council on April 28 approved updates to the city personnel policy manual and adopted a resolution to implement the manual as the official employment policy document.
Human resources staff summarized edits made since the work session: grammatical corrections and pronoun updates, a reduced notification window for religious-accommodation requests (changed to 15–20 days), changing “longevity pay” language to “longevity bonus,” removing an additional two days of bereavement for out-of-state travel, and updating the grievance/hearing-officer selection process to use a prequalified list maintained by the clerk’s office with preference for persons who have employment-law experience.
Councilmember Terry Fye proposed removing a stray “he/his” definition and cleaning a pronoun typo in the Code of Ethics section; staff confirmed the edits could be incorporated. Council voted 5-0 to approve the resolution adopting the personnel policy manual with the stated edits (remove “procedures” text from the resolution and fix pronoun wording). Staff said the manual will be published as the city’s official personnel policy document.
