Staff said the jail system includes about 95 cameras; the courthouse system will not be changed under this purchase.
Funding and procurement: staff said the upgrade would be paid from a local-option sales and services tax security line item that has seen little activity this year. The vendor was described to the board as a regional reseller that previously installed panic buttons and alarm systems at the courthouse.
Board action: a motion to proceed with Hawkeye Communications at $25,135.83 carried on a recorded vote; supervisors indicated support by name during the roll call.
