Jeff McCaskill of the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office presented the district’s first‑quarter crime statistics to the Incline Village–Crystal Bay Citizens Advisory Board and offered to make the report public.
McCaskill noted that “the DUIs are up largely because you are focusing on that,” and said DUI enforcement is a declared priority this year because reducing impaired driving reduces crashes. He said he would provide the quarterly report to county staff for posting and offered to email a copy to the meeting organizer for online distribution.
The North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District announced two outreach items. Denise Davis, speaking for the district, said the department will host a blood drive on May 8 (appointments through Vitalant or at the fire station QR flyer). The district also set up an email to compile reports of property insurance nonrenewal notices so the chief can pass statistics to the Nevada Department of Insurance: insurancerenewal@nltfpd.net. Davis said the email is intended only to gather data for the state and will not resolve individual homeowner nonrenewal cases.
The district reiterated available services for residents: seasonal defensible‑space inspections (May–October), the free chipping program (signups begin May 12), and coordination with federal and state lands for thinning and controlled burns. McCaskill and district staff offered to provide digital copies of the statistics and program flyers for the county website; McCaskill gave a contact email for follow‑up.
Ending: Officials asked residents to use provided contacts and online resources to obtain copies of the quarterly statistics, to sign up for the district’s chipping and inspection programs, and to submit insurance nonrenewal incidents to the district’s designated email address so aggregated data can be shared with the state insurance commissioner.
