In cause 24 CPR 041366 the court found by clear and convincing evidence that Stephen Michael (referred to as "Steven" in testimony) died intestate and declared his heirs as listed in the judgment of heirship. The court granted the request to appoint Susan Therese Munoz as independent administrator of the estate to serve without bond.
Witnesses — including Munoz, Curtis Matthew Flowers and Charlotte McClinton — testified they knew the decedent, that he died on June 22, 2024 in Sugar Land, Fort Bend County, and that he had no spouse or children and was predeceased by his parents. They testified there is property and a need for administration; Munoz and the other distributees requested independent administration and agreed Munoz should serve without bond.
The court discharged attorney Robert Franks from duties as attorney and awarded him a fee of $650. The court then appointed Munoz independent administrator and approved the findings of heirship.
