The Infrastructure Committee accepted an engineer's report on Nov. 18 recommending the discontinuance of Davis Court and a portion of First Street and moved staff recommendations to the next step in the state discontinuance process.
Staff said the discontinuance follows the state-required process, which includes a public meeting with abutters. The engineer conducted the public meeting on Nov. 13; staff reported that no abutters attended. With no objections at the public meeting, the engineer recommended passage of the discontinuance as described on the exhibit provided to the committee.
Councilor Leonard moved to accept the engineer's report and to move staff recommendations; a second was recorded and the committee agreed to proceed. Staff did not record any public opposition at the meeting and described the item as the final step in the local process before state-level actions required for street discontinuance.
Staff said the discontinuance recommendation is based on the exhibit in committee materials; the committee accepted the report and instructed staff to proceed with the steps required by the state discontinuance procedure.
No roll-call vote was recorded at the committee meeting; the committee approved moving the engineer's recommendation forward.
