The Economic Development Commission of the Fairbanks North Star Borough adjourned its April 22, 2025 meeting at 2:44 p.m. after finding it did not have a quorum and voted to reconvene on Tuesday, May 13 at 2:30 p.m.
Clerk’s office staff notified commissioners at the start of the meeting that “Mister Telvey is excused for this meeting. Miss Haim is excused, and miss Dean is excused,” and the clerk then completed roll call. Commissioners Michael Leginas, McGinnis, Tidwell and Mayor Mary Hopkins were present, but the clerk said, “We do not have a quorum.”
Under the commission’s rules, the clerk noted, the only business available without a quorum was to set a future meeting time. An unnamed commissioner moved to reconvene on May 6 at 2:30 p.m.; another unnamed commissioner seconded. A second motion amended the reconvening date to Tuesday, May 13 at 2:30 p.m. The amendment was seconded. The commission then voted by roll call. Commissioners McGinnis, Leginas, Bull and Mayor Hopkins voted in favor; the clerk announced a 4-0 vote and that the motion passed.
The clerk closed the meeting record, noting the next meeting would be May 13 at 2:30 p.m., and the commission adjourned at 2:44 p.m.
This meeting produced no substantive agenda actions or policy decisions; the record shows only the scheduling motion taken because of the absence of a quorum.
