State mine inspector holds public meeting on JDI aggregate pit reclamation plan in Mohave County

The Office of the State Mine Inspector held a public meeting to accept comments on a proposed reclamation plan for the JDI Enterprises LLC aggregate pit, a 48.4-acre property about 5 miles east of Kingman in Mohave County.

The inspector's staff said the plan was found technically complete and eligible for the public meeting process. The plan covers about 23.1 acres of disturbance within the parcel, proposes a final pit depth of "32" (units not specified in the plan summary), and calls for final pit slopes of 3:1 (horizontal to vertical). Mining operations are anticipated to begin in late 2025 and continue for approximately 15 years, with reclamation of mining, processing and related areas to commence immediately upon cessation and to be completed within one year following cessation. The inspector's staff said that, if the plan is approved, financial assurance must be submitted to the office within 60 days and annual reports will be required.
