County staff told the Board of Supervisors on April 21 that the Mohave County Airport Authority (MCAA) accepted an invitation to present financial information and that the authority’s FY2022 and FY2023 audits have been received and posted online.
Clerk/staff reported that MCAA asked to present to the board on May 19 (the authority had originally proposed May 5) and said the county formalized a recorded board resolution requesting a representative (voting) seat on the MCAA board; staff said the county has not yet received MCAA’s formal response to that recorded request.
Supervisor Letman and others asked whether the authority’s bylaws permit a county-appointed voting seat or whether that change would require a bylaws amendment; staff said MCAA had indicated changing bylaws requires approval of a super-majority of its board and that logistical steps were being discussed. Staff also said county finance staff had received and were reviewing the authority audits.
Ending: MCAA will present financial information at a future meeting (May 19 per MCAA request) and county staff will report audit review findings and any response to the county’s request for representation on the authority board.
