Board forwards bids for review and awards for road, fairgrounds and shade-structure projects

At its March 3 meeting, the Graham County Board of Supervisors opened bids for several county projects and instructed staff to review them for conformity and award to the lowest conforming bidder.
Two bids were received for a Solomon Road asphalt repair project: Sunland Asphalt & Construction (total $222,506) and CKC Construction & Materials (total $150,281.89). Supervisors directed staff to verify conformity to specifications and budget and to award to the lowest conforming bidder.
For the ballpark concession stand lease, the county received a single bid from Erica Vargas at $1,700 (minimum bid $1,500). Staff will confirm health-department compliance and lease terms before final award. For the fairgrounds maintenance-yard shade structure (replacement/rebuild using salvaged materials), three bids were opened: Lunt Construction ($61,500), Wright Brothers Welding ($48,000) and Ward Brothers Metal Buildings ($74,200). Supervisors again forwarded bids to staff for conformity checks and award to the lowest conforming bidder.
The board made all referrals by motion and voice vote; final awards will be recorded after staff completes conformity and budgeting reviews.
