County approves limited-service contract for Rule 11 competency evaluations

Mindy Young of Superior Court said the county has four pending evaluations and two scheduled with Dr. Walker; she noted the judges had been satisfied with prior work. The contract runs through June 30, 2026. Supervisors approved the agreement by voice vote after discussion about prior experience and teleconference capability for evaluations.
The county attorney reviewed the arrangement and had no objection, Young said; the contract was described as a backup to ensure timely completion of pending evaluations.
