Board accepts donated right-of-way parcels on Powerline Road

County engineer Eric Engel listed property owners and parcel numbers for seven or eight donations spanning portions of Powerline Road; each right-of-way is 50 feet wide, the engineer said. Supervisors praised engineering staff and noted the easements will help the county pursue chip sealing and other roadway rehabilitation projects on a road that some supervisors described as "very rough and can be very dangerous." The board approved acceptance of the parcels by motion and voice vote, directing staff to record the donations and move forward with design and maintenance scheduling.
Supervisor David noted the importance of staff’s personal outreach to property owners in securing the donations. Staff will record the acquired right-of-way parcels and coordinate the planned chip-seal and related roadwork.
