Trustees accept $5,000 community grant and authorize playground inspection and curbing survey POs

Trustees reported a $5,000 grant from the Rausch Community Fund for the community park; the trustees said the grant will be applied to drainage work.
The board approved a purchase order not to exceed $5,000 to Southwest Buckeye Services LLC for a playground inspection to ensure the installation meets the township’s insurance specifications. Trustees also approved a purchase order not to exceed $2,500 to RVP (the architect/designer) for curbing layout and staking so the curbing is placed to design specifications.
Staff and trustees discussed contractor scheduling for the park’s curved shade features and said Ventura (the playground installer) is currently backlogged because of weather. Trustees said they are seeking alternate installers and considering adjusting the community build schedule to accommodate volunteer availability. Several trustees said local contractors may volunteer shorter blocks of time rather than the full eight-hour shifts requested for the build.
Trustees reported roughly half of the planned trees for the park have been planted and discussed keeping the same design team together for continuity. No new budget appropriation was requested beyond the approved POs at the meeting.
