The motion to adopt was made by Commissioner Tony Boney and seconded by Commissioner Schumacher; roll call was unanimous and the ordinance passed.
Historic district grant: The commission approved a historic-district matching grant application (HG0225) for roof improvements at Christ Church Episcopal, 151 West Church Avenue. Planning staff recommended approval; Commissioner Abby Shoemaker moved approval, Deputy Mayor Bridal Sackett seconded, and the roll call vote was unanimous. Staff noted the city’s annual allocation to the grant program is $15,000 and this award is the second of the fiscal year, leaving $5,000 remaining.
Temporary use agreement for Sunshine Pharmacy: The commission approved a temporary use agreement to allow Sunshine Pharmacy (listed as Sunshine Pharmacy of Casselberry in the agreement) to operate at 876 S. U.S. Highway 1792 while the city processes an LDC (land development code) amendment. Staff outlined a schedule that would take the amendment to the Local Planning Agency on May 14 and the City Commission on May 19 and June 2; if the ordinance changes are approved, the temporary agreement would be superseded.
Consent and other actions: The commission approved the consent agenda (items 10A–E) and separately approved item 10F (a purchase/memorialization related to the Leadership Seminole graduation) after a brief discussion; Deputy Mayor Sackett moved approval of the consent agenda and later moved approval of 10F with memorialization language; motions passed unanimously.
