Last year the tournament drew 77 teams and an estimated 250 people for weigh-ins and related activities; organizers are targeting 85 to 90 teams this year.
The county's marketing staff will record the event under Visit Keith County promotional efforts and will use new analytics tools to measure attendance. Commissioners moved and passed the grant request by roll call.
Practical effect: The grant will fund advertising with Eagle Radio and other regional outlets; visitors staff said the Home Builders Association will again assist with onsite lunch and logistics for participants. The visitors office will track lodging and attendance data to capture the event's tourism impact.
