The Canton Township Planning Commission voted to recommend approval of the final condominium site plan for Harvest Arbor, a proposed 51-unit detached single-family development at the southeast corner of Ford and Napier roads, subject to required state, county and township permits and performance guarantees.
The Canton Township Planning Commission voted to recommend approval of the final condominium site plan for Harvest Arbor, parcel number 070-99-0002-702, a proposed development of 51 detached single-family residences at the southeast corner of Ford and Napier roads.
The recommendation, moved by Commissioner Watkins and supported by Commissioner Singh, was based on staff findings that the final site plan conforms to the township’s zoning ordinance and condominium ordinance and that required state, county and township engineering permits have been obtained. Patrick Sloan, township planning staff, told the commission that the final condominium site plan largely matches the previously approved preliminary plan and that performance guarantees and any remaining landscaping or pond-planting bonds remain to be submitted before the township’s pre-construction conference.
Mike Knowles of the Amloor Group, representing MI Homes, said the applicant is prepared to proceed and listed permits the applicant has obtained, including multiple state and county permits and Canton Township permits. Knowles said the project covers about 26 acres and that the development team is ready to begin construction.
Commissioner Egenberger called the roll for the vote; Commissioners Lee, Singh, Watkins, Weber, Egenberger and Chairperson Zuber recorded “yes” and the motion carried. The commission’s recommendation follows a prior Planning Commission review of the preliminary PDD and preliminary site plan on May 6 of the previous year and a Board of Trustees approval of the preliminary site plan and final PDD on June 11 of the previous year.
The commission’s action was a recommendation; the project remains subject to any remaining performance guarantees and the township engineering division’s pre-construction requirements before construction activity begins.
