The Rangeley Comprehensive Plan Review Committee agreed to forward the draft economy chapter to the Board of Selectmen for their review.
Committee members said the economy section had already gone through multiple revisions with the Selectmen and with staff and is ready to proceed. One committee member summarized the group's view that silence from the Selectmen should be read as assent: "Their silence, we will assume, is their acquiescence." The committee recorded no opposition when the chair asked if anyone objected to sending the chapter on to the Selectmen.
The economy chapter will be transmitted as a draft appendix to the full comprehensive plan; committee members said additional edits can be made if the Selectmen request them following their review. Committee staff noted the chapter draws on a downtown revitalization appendix and DOT-required material already submitted under the consultant contract.
The committee did not adopt new policy language at the meeting; it voted only to forward the current draft to the Board of Selectmen for the next stage of review and public process.
The committee scheduled follow-up work on remaining chapters and implementation steps at future meetings.
