Chair, Goochland County Board of Supervisors, called to order a continuation meeting of April 15 and read a public notice that the board will hold closed meetings to interview candidates for the position of county administrator.
The Chair said the board would not disclose the dates, times or locations of those interviews within 15 days thereafter, “as permitted by Virginia code 2.2-3712,” and that the board would reconvene in open session to certify any closed meeting before adjourning to the county’s regular meeting on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
During the brief proceeding a motion to adjourn to Tuesday, May 6, 2025 was made and seconded. The board approved the motion by a voice vote; no roll call was taken.
The meeting record contains the Chair’s opening: “I'd like to call the meeting of the board of supervisors, continuance of April 15, to order.” The public notice read during the meeting described the closed meetings’ purpose as interviewing county administrator candidates and cited the cited statutory authority for the closed sessions.
The board indicated it will reconvene in open session to certify the closed meeting pursuant to the cited Virginia code before concluding the matter at the May 6 meeting.
