Roseville pins five newly cleared officers, promotes four supervisors at April badge ceremony

The Roseville Police Department held a badge-pinning and promotion ceremony on April 22 at the council meeting, recognizing five officers who completed their probationary periods and four supervisors who received promotions.

Chief Perlan, presenting on behalf of the department, introduced crossing guard Doreen Powell and presented a plaque recognizing more than a decade of service; Deputy Chief Good and others also spoke. Chief Perlan noted Powell fractured her hand earlier in the year while directing students but has remained with the district and the city.

The department pinned five officers who completed their field training and probation: Officer Connor Burzrock, Officer Nicholas Stokowski, Officer Mitchell Earnat, Officer Allison Bridal and Officer Kellen Perzuero. Chief Perlan described several new officers as “legacies” whose parents previously served in law enforcement and praised their training and performance.

The council and police leadership also celebrated promotions: Justin Thorngate and Alex Weitand were promoted to sergeant; Thomas Trella and Justin Forrest were promoted to lieutenant. Chief Perlan and Deputy Chief Good described the promoted supervisors’ roles in programs such as the drone team, crisis intervention and field-training coordination.

“I’m very proud of these officers and the work they do every day,” Chief Perlan said during the ceremony. He commended the department’s emphasis on training and on de-escalation tactics in recent incidents and thanked families for their support.

Ending No policy actions were taken during the ceremony. Council members and city staff acknowledged the promotions and pinned officers and thanked department families for attending.
