CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — At its April 22 special meeting the Chillicothe City Council read for a second time an ordinance that would appropriate $96,000 to pay for demolition of six houses in the city that were damaged by fire.
The clerk read the ordinance’s second reading; council members did not take a final vote on the appropriation at the special meeting. The item was continued to the council’s next regular meeting for further consideration and final action.
President Shoemaker said the meeting was limited to items listed on the special meeting notice from the mayor’s office; the demolition appropriation was one of two items scheduled for second reading. No public comment on the demolition ordinance was recorded at the special meeting.
Because the ordinance was read a second time but not adopted, no funds were released at the April 22 session. The clerk indicated the item will appear on the next council agenda for a final vote.
