At its April 17 meeting the Kentwood City Commission approved the agenda, approved the consent agenda and approved minutes from the April 1 meeting. The commission also moved to excuse Commissioner Morgan with prior notification and tabled two public hearings (items 11a and 11b) to the next commission meeting because the notices showed an incorrect start time.
"First of all, I wanna say it's great to be back. Really happy to be back and, just wanna take a minute to thank those of you that sent all the well wishes and prayers that really touched my heart over the last 6 months," said Commissioner Coughlin during general remarks.
The commission heard announcements about community events: a city cleanup day scheduled for May 3 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and an Arbor Day celebration planned for April 25. Staff also noted that the yard-waste drop-off (leaf pile) is open with updated hours posted on the city's website. No formal votes were taken on the announcements.
