Dearborn City Council on its final reading passed an ordinance that creates a permitting pathway for permanent food-truck parks in parts of the city while restricting mobile vendors near the downtown tax-increment finance (TIF) districts.
The ordinance amends the zoning code to allow food-truck parks in BC (General Business) and IA (Light Industrial) districts subject to special land-use approval, requires additional sanitation and commissary provisions for larger sites and bars food trucks from the city’s downtown/TIF corridors. Council members voted in favor; the ordinance takes effect Sept. 1, 2025.
