The Hampton Township Council voted unanimously on April 23 to promote Officer Brian Williams from part time to full time, effective April 28, 2025, to fill the vacancy created by the upcoming retirement of David Mitchell.

Police Chief stated Williams has served part time since January and described him as a 10-year U.S. Army veteran; the chief recommended the promotion and asked the council to approve the appointment per the chief’s memo dated April 2.

Council members moved and seconded the promotion and adopted the action by roll call: Miss Fritch, Mr. Midgley, Mr. Scholey, Miss Blackburn and Dr. Johnson all voted in favor. No dissent or abstentions were recorded.

The council recorded the effective date as April 28, 2025; the action was approved by the required roll call and is on the township record as the council’s personnel action for filling the impending vacancy.
