District staff presented plans for summer 2025 programming including sites, schedules, staffing and assessment plans.
Programs and timing
- Extended School Year (special education) and preschool ESY will be held at Fairsite (preschool) and other designated sites.
- Middle school summer program and Migrant program scheduled (McCaffrey hosted historically; site may change to Greer).
- Summer Academy (invited students falling roughly in the 20th–40th percentiles on MAP) runs June 9–July 3, Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–12 p.m.; GEL runs June 13–July 24 and operates 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Staffing and coordinators
District named coordinators: Gina Fuentes (ESY coordinator), Elaine Troll (summer school coordinator), Lori Jones (expanded learning coordinator), and Nick Swaboda (food services coordinator). Staff said certificated and classified summer postings are in progress and that the district continues recruiting subs and program staff to meet staff‑to‑student ratios.
Assessment and outcomes
Administrators said academic Summer Academy participants take pre‑ and post‑tests and staff will report outcomes in August. Staff described transportation plans when students from nonhosting sites request buses and said sites with no programs will be offered transportation to hosting sites when needed.
Board questions and logistics
Trustees asked about outcome tracking; staff confirmed pre/post assessments and attendance monitoring. Staff emphasized families may request transportation and that staff are still filling summer positions.
