Fremont County School District #2 board reviews staff listening-session findings, previews policy changes on concealed carry and single‑sex facilities

Fremont County School District #2 — At its April 4 meeting the Fremont County School District #2 Board of Trustees reviewed the results of a recent staff listening tour and discussed proposed updates to three policies, including a draft on staff concealed carry and a draft on designated facilities. The board approved the meeting agenda and the consent agenda by 7-0 votes and later voted 7-0 to enter executive session to discuss personnel.

Board members said the staff listening sessions produced candid feedback that the board plans to use to shape follow-up actions. In prepared remarks, Melissa (staff member) summarized the main themes: stronger connections between early learning and the main campus, the need to sustain counseling and mental‑health services, proposals for a student‑centered career guidance program, clearer library procedures, a consistent schoolwide cell‑phone policy and concerns about staff morale following leadership transitions.
