Scotts Bluff County commissioners voted unanimously to appoint Victor Walker to the county Veterans Service Committee.

Commissioner Harris introduced the appointment, saying he has known Walker for many years and that Walker had experience leading veterans’ activities and had served as a local aging‑services director. “He would definitely be an asset to the Veterans Committee,” Harris said.

The nut graf: the appointment fills a vacancy on the committee; Walker submitted a letter of interest and was not present at the meeting. The board moved, seconded and approved the appointment by unanimous vote.
