Payment of bills and consent agenda: The board approved routine consent agenda items including the April 24 agenda notice and minutes from earlier meetings and authorized payment of county bills under agenda item 1.1. The motion to approve the agenda notice and minutes was made and seconded, and commissioners voted in favor.

NDOT road closure permit: The board approved an NDOT road‑closure permit for the World Human Powered Speed Challenge scheduled for September 2025 on Highway 305 and authorized the chair to sign the permit. Applicant Arthur Eaton said the event has run for more than 20 years and that highway patrol and local emergency services had reviewed the request.

Tri‑county meeting authorization: The commission authorized the county manager to set up a tri‑county meeting with Mineral and Pershing counties to discuss a multi‑county agreement regarding funding for the 11th Judicial District Court, including court administration, court services, youth and family services and specialty court programs.

Justice of the peace salary: Separately (see article), the commission approved a salary increase for the general justice of the peace to $89,307 effective the next pay period.
