The board voted April 25 to approve the Juvenile/Adult jail board's fiscal year 2026 budget in the amount of $13,846,630.

A county presenter noted that the jail board approved the FY26 budget and that the program imposes "no cost to the localities." The packet distributed to supervisors included a budget narrative and expenditure and revenue requests, the presenter said.

A supervisor moved to approve the jail board budget and the motion carried on a voice vote. A supervisor commented that participation by the county provided savings because some inmate housing costs are paid with federal dollars and by surrounding jurisdictions.

The board recorded no follow-up action on the jail budget item other than formal approval.
