Park Campus students report on leadership group activities, testing supports and spring events

Students and staff from Park Campus presented an overview of student leadership work at the April 23 Board of Education meeting, describing recent activities, testing‑week supports and upcoming spring events.
Jennifer Voss, dean of students at Park Campus and the PAC sponsor, told the board the leadership group “Leader of the Pack” includes seventh‑ and eighth‑grade students who help with school activities, foster community and support positive learning. The group organized good‑luck “IAR” test bags with pencils, stickers and other items distributed to classrooms during IAR testing in April.
Student presenters summarized survey results about favorite subjects and activities: mathematics and English language arts were most frequently named; a science ‘‘helmet lab’’ was the most popular science activity; and music was frequently cited as a favorite class because students enjoy learning guitar and piano. Upcoming events listed by presenters included a family reading night on April 30, a seventh‑ and eighth‑grade band concert on May 13, an eighth‑grade dance on May 9 and an eighth‑grade picnic and awards ceremony on May 29. The students said the leadership group helps ensure students’ voices are heard and reported working closely with staff and the PTO on events.
Board members thanked the presenters and offered brief questions and praise.
