The Fairview Planning Commission on April 8 voted to recommend annexation of the 3.24-acre parcel at 7330 Taylor Road (PC 14-25). The property owner, Sheila Taylor, told the commission she viewed the parcel as a future home site and that she had subdividing options in mind.
City planner Ethan Greer read the staff report noting the parcel is tax map 42, parcel 77.06, zoned BR (Bridal Preservation) RP5 within Williamson County, and now lies within Fairview’s expanded urban growth boundary. Staff recommended the commission forward a favorable recommendation to the Board of Commissioners with conditions listed in the resolution; the annexation will appear on the Board agenda on May 1 with the potential for a public hearing and second reading on June 5.
Why it matters: Annexation brings the parcel inside the municipal boundary and subjects future development to Fairview zoning and subdivision rules. Greer said a future land use classification has not been assigned because the property was not in the city’s urban growth boundary when the comprehensive plan was created.
Vote: The motion to recommend approval passed by voice vote; the item will proceed to the Board of Commissioners for final action.
