The Springfield Historic Commission voted April 17 to advance proposed standard guidelines for local site visits to a public hearing.
Staff presented a draft of proposed guidelines intended to help applicants and commissioners know what documentation and on‑site information the commission expects during routine site visits. Commissioners said they would like to consider the draft at a hearing so members not present at the meeting could review it; the commission delayed final action and voted to place the draft on a future public hearing agenda.
A commissioner noted that a hearing is appropriate because the commission typically has six members and tonight’s meeting had four present. The motion to send the draft guidelines to a hearing passed by voice vote; staff will schedule the hearing and issue public notice.
