District leaders told the board they will return registration to school campuses for the 2025–26 school year, moving registration responsibilities back to building office professionals and principals while central enrollment (VOAT) continues to support families through June 30.
The presentation said training for office staff and principals is scheduled in late April and May to prepare schools for in-person registration and kindergarten roundup. The district plans communications and tutorial materials to reduce barriers parents experienced under the prior online-only workflow; staff said they are working to reduce friction in the online system and to provide mobile-friendly options and in-person help for families who need it.
Acting district staff said the shift aims to improve data accuracy, reduce registration friction for families and help principals manage campus populations directly. The district will maintain central support for new families through June and will transition full registration responsibilities to campuses starting in July.
This item was informational; staff said they will provide materials and supports to help families register smoothly.
