Town requests role in conveyance of remaining AVTECH property covered by 1999 MOU

Town officials told Warren County representatives they want to be part of any discussion about conveyance of remaining land covered by a 1999 memorandum of understanding (MOU) involving the town, county and the economic-development authority (EDA).
Town representatives said the original MOU began with roughly 117 acres. They said approximately 32 acres have been conveyed to the county (where the soccer complex is located) and roughly five acres were conveyed to the town. The town asked to be considered for any remaining parcels — several attendees estimated there may be about four acres left — and requested that legal staff from the town, county, and EDA meet to discuss conveyance options. “It is a three-party MOU… we want to make sure that we are part of possible,” a town representative said.
County participants said the town should contact the EDA and suggested county legal staff and EDA counsel meet to review the MOU language. No decisions or conveyances were made at the meeting; the town requested that county legal staff coordinate the next steps with EDA legal counsel.
Town and county staff agreed to follow up with legal counsel to clarify acreages and review the MOU language before any conveyance occurs.
