72 Valley Road plan revised with tree removal list and native planting plan; hearing continued to May 8

The applicant (identified as Karen) read a planting list and the commission recorded the trees proposed for removal: one 12-inch pine; four 10-inch pines; two 8-inch cedars; two 6-inch pines; one 6-inch oak; and a 10-inch oak. The planting plan calls for two replacement trees and 30 shrubs, with native meadow and pollinator mixes.
Commission staff Deb said the planting plan and topography provide a much improved depiction of existing conditions. Commissioner Reid asked that the planting schedule list caliper sizes to ensure trees meet the commission’s minimum caliper (2.5 inches) for replacement stock; the applicant and commissioners confirmed the size notes on the plan are in inches.
No members of the public spoke. The commission voted by roll call to continue the hearing for 72 Valley Road (DEP file 234-950) to May 8 so staff can draft an order of conditions.
