Houston County approves courthouse network switch, rescue truck change order and DA vehicle purchase

The contract calls for half the amount ($99,372.53) to be paid upfront and the remainder at project completion; the board authorized a special check to meet the vendor's quote expiration.
Commissioner Talton also moved to approve a change order in the purchase agreement for two rescue trucks previously authorized Dec. 17, 2024; Commissioner Robinson seconded. The change order adds $1,138 per truck, bringing the two-truck total (including equipment) to $1,123,137.04. The board said the change followed a site visit clarifying storage-area needs for tools and equipment; funding will come from ARPA and the 2018 SPLOST with the change order funded by SPLOST. No delivery delay was added.
Commissioner Robinson moved and Commissioner Gottwald seconded approval of the bid for one new 2025 Ford F‑150 4x4 SuperCrew from Phil Brandon Ford of Perry for the district attorney's office at $65,004.29. The purchase will replace a 2019 GMC Yukon and is to be reimbursed with drug-forfeiture funds.
