Pulaski County court approves hires, clerk payment, treasurer reports and begins budget amendment process

The Pulaski County Fiscal Court completed several routine administrative actions, including approving minutes, authorizing hires across departments, agreeing to payment for voting-equipment maintenance, accepting returned cash-drawer funds and taking initial steps on a budget amendment.

The court approved the April 8 meeting minutes. County Clerk Tim Price asked the court to authorize payment to Harp Enterprises to perform periodic upgrades and battery replacements for voting equipment; the court moved and approved payment when the invoice arrives or after a July budget transfer, with a motion by Mr. Strunk and second by Mr. Wheeland.

Price also handed the court a check for $1,800 from nine cash drawers; the court accepted the check by motion and vote.

Personnel actions included approval of seasonal and replacement hires across departments: animal-control replacement hire (name in personnel packet), seasonal hires for the parks and road departments, a seasonal hire for Pikes County Park (Jeff Jones) and a truck-driver hire for the patch crew (Josh Masten). Motions to hire were made and approved by the court.

Treasurer reports (third-quarter report) and March bank reconciliations were approved. The court held a first reading of a FY25 budget amendment, moved to advertise the amendment and recorded a motion to advertise. The clerk explained the amendment accounts for additional revenue received beyond the original budget.

Finally, the court voted to enter executive session to discuss personnel; after returning to open session the presiding official announced no action was taken in executive session and the court adjourned.
