Finance director reports audit progress and plans RFP for auditing services

The finance director told the committee audit testing and grant work are underway, staffing and holiday schedules have delayed final issuance, and an RFP for auditing services will be posted this month.
At the Jan. 6 Finance Committee meeting the finance director updated members on the city's audit. The director said auditors had finished a number of areas of testing, that some remaining work depends on retrieving records from the old city hall, and that staff and auditors faced holiday and staffing-related delays. "Not as far ahead as I would have hoped to be on today, but further ahead than we were the last time we had the discussion," the finance director said.
The director said most grant testing has been completed and, barring new requests for additional testing, staff hopes to issue the audit this month. The finance director also confirmed a request-for-proposals (RFP) for auditing services is on the director's desk and will be posted during the month.
No committee action or vote was recorded on the audit update; the presentation was informational and staff said they would continue work and report back as necessary.
