Hall County opens first all‑inclusive playground at Laurel Park; county plans more in South Hall

Hall County officials highlighted the grand opening of the county’s first all‑inclusive playground at Laurel Park during the April 21, 2025 work session, presenting a short video and describing plans to expand similar playgrounds in South Hall.

County Administrator Zach Probst introduced the segment as the monthly “win” video and said the county and its Parks and Leisure Department believe every child should have “an opportunity to play, connect, and grow together.” The video and staff remarks emphasized full accessibility features including a bonded rubber surface for mobility devices, a roll‑on ‘‘We Go Round’’ for wheelchair users, musical components for sensory needs, a communications board for nonverbal interaction and an anti‑static metal roller slide intended for children who use cochlear implants. County staff identified Hope for Hall, a local nonprofit focused on disability inclusion in play, as a project partner and said the playground was built using a design by Playground Creations of Atlanta.

Zach Probst and others thanked Parks and Leisure Director Brent Holloway and assistant director Reyna Smith for their leadership on the project. Probst said the county will pursue additional inclusive playgrounds, naming South Hall as the next area under consideration.
