District approves change order and demolition as kindergarten center construction continues

The board also approved demolition of two district‑owned houses acquired for the project — listed in the meeting materials as 1 N 221 and 1 N 249 Bloomingdale Road — awarding the demolition work to Upright Construction for $46,935. Staff told the board this was the low bid and a contractor the district has used previously.
Board members noted the demolition and change order are time sensitive because devices must be ordered and site work scheduled to match the project timeline. Both authorizations passed on roll‑call votes.
