Property management committee reviews county construction updates, approves minutes

The Rutherford County Property Management Committee on Wednesday received construction and site-plan updates on several county facilities and approved the minutes from its previous meeting.

Director Dodd reported that work on the Recovery Court renovation has moved into interior finishes: "The roof tear off and full replacement is now complete," Dodd said, adding that mechanical and electrical rough-in work has passed inspection and that window, door, HVAC, drywall and painting work were ongoing. He said the project remains on track for a Phase 1 estimated completion in May 2025.

The committee also received a status update on the Plainview Public Health and Safety Building. Director Dodd said site work is about 80% complete, and that structural and in-wall inspections had finished. He told commissioners that interior wall coverings and painting are under way and that the project's current scheduled completion date remains October 2025. Dodd said the plan reflects traffic and queuing needs for the site and said the county asked the architect to include two queuing lanes, added parking capacity, two canopies and an upgraded vacuum-tube system to mirror features at the new Blackman one-stop location. He said those elements were intended to address congestion and access on the site.
