Board leadership selects committee chairs for 2025–26 session; votes recorded

Leadership explained the nomination process: after the full Board meeting on Monday, leadership asked aldermen to nominate themselves or colleagues and compiled nominations into a document in a shared drive. Some committee members signaled concern that nominations should not be treated as binding votes of the full board; leadership said nominations were one input among others and that chairs carry additional responsibilities, including seats on boards and commissions associated with particular committees.
