Glades County joins regional Next Generation 911 addendum to include Manatee, Sarasota

Glades County commissioners approved Addendum No. 2 March 11 to a multi-county memorandum of understanding for the Florida Region 6 Next Generation 911 routing project, adding Manatee and Sarasota counties to the original MOU.
County staff told the board the original MOU was adopted in 2022 and was amended in August 2023; the current action expands the participating counties. Commissioner Patterson moved approval; Commissioner Barnes seconded and the motion carried by the commissioners present.
The addendum modifies the regional partnership for 9-1-1 routing and does not by itself change local dispatch operations. Staff said the addendum continues the county—ommitment to a joint regional approach to upgrade 9-1-1 routing capabilities.
