Glades County backs federal funding request to expand wastewater plant

The Glades County Board of County Commissioners voted March 11 to adopt Resolution 2025-10 in support of a FY2026 community project funding request to expand and improve the Glades County Wastewater Treatment Plant.
County staff described the request as part of a broader funding strategy that includes seeking local support from state legislators and conducting feasibility work. The expansion was described in staff remarks as an effort to add a third treatment train and increase the plant—apacity to meet anticipated demands.
Commissioner Taylor moved adoption of Resolution 2025-10 and Commissioner Barnes seconded. The board approved the resolution by voice vote; commissioners present signaled support and the motion carried.
The resolution is a nonbinding statement of the board nd is intended to accompany the county pplication for federal FY2026 community project funding. Staff said the county will continue feasibility work and pursue complementary local funding sources.
