The Bruceville-Eddy City Council unanimously approved an interlocal cooperative agreement with McLennan County Precinct 1 to reseal Mackay Ranch Road and Crescent Meadows Lane, at an estimated cost of $23,760.
City Administrator Kent Minton explained the street-repair committee’s recommendation and why the county’s available operations shaped the choice. Minton said the city had a larger-than-usual street-repair budget this year but that county constraints on reconstruction work made reseal work the most feasible near term option.
The committee prioritized roads after considering several candidates — including portions of Eagle, Horseshoe Bend and Forest Creek — and recommended using the county’s ongoing Mackay Ranch reseal work to extend the treatment through city limits and add a thin oil/gravel reseal for Crescent Meadows Lane.
Councilman Richardson moved to approve the interlocal agreement; Mayor Pro Tem Graham McGrewer seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
Staff noted the action draws from the city’s street repair budget for the current fiscal year and will not reduce the earmarked funds for a larger sewer-related street reconstruction program. The ILA is intended to extend the useful life of the specified roads rather than fund full reconstruction.
