The Bexley Board of Zoning and Planning approved a variance allowing a six-foot extension to an existing nonconforming garage at 60 North Ardmore.
Staff said the garage is believed to be original to the property and sits approximately 1 foot 6 inches off the rear property line and 2 feet 6 inches off the side-yard property line. Because no prior variance was located, the applicant requested relief to expand the existing accessory structure.
The Architectural Review Board forwarded the item on the consent agenda. The applicant told the board the extension is intended to preserve yard space and provide storage while keeping the existing structure rather than building a new garage. The board voted to accept findings and grant a variance under Bexley code section 1252.15(g)(1) authorizing the six-foot extension.
The motion to approve the findings was moved by Mr. Rosenthal and seconded by Mr. Eshelbrenner. Roll-call votes were recorded as affirmative by all board members present.
