The minutes record a voice vote with no recorded opposition on those items.
Training and grants The record noted that Dwayne Ellison and Rob Jones completed their required training; the court briefly recognized their accomplishment.
Fire department travel Chief John Ward requested authorization for preconstruction travel related to three new apparatus the department ordered: one pumper with a ladder and two additional pumpers. The trip is scheduled May 5–9 to Appleton, Wisconsin, to review specifications and the build process with the manufacturer; attendees will include the chief, the assistant chief and several rank‑and‑file firefighters and officers. The court approved the out‑of‑state travel by voice vote.
Pavilion lighting savings reallocated County staff reported that Younger Electric completed a pavilion lighting project under budget, leaving $21,605 in remaining funds. Drew (county parks staff) asked the court to reallocate the surplus to other pavilion needs; the court approved reallocation by motion and voice vote. County officials praised the contractor for labor savings and asked staff to identify prioritized uses for the remaining funds.
Other funding and grant notes Separately, the court acknowledged a CCVIP award (county reference: $969,160) that county staff said will fund work to reopen two bridges (North Race Fork and Mount Horeb). County officials thanked KYTC and other partners for coordination on that grant.
What comes next Officials said staff will return with timelines for apparatus delivery after the preconstruction meeting and will present proposed uses for the pavilion reallocation at a future work session. The court adjourned after approving the last motions.
